The objectives of the programme of renovation in Moscow

The mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin in an interview with the family-owned Demyan Kudryavtsev, the newspaper “Vedomosti” said that the program of renovation of the housing stock in the Russian capital will increase the market supply of housing, which, in turn, will enable the public to improve their living conditions.

“When we talk about the renovation programme is not only to resettle people from dilapidated Khrushchev, but also to give the opportunity to acquire new housing for those who live in these areas and feels the need of better housing conditions”, — said the mayor.

The mayor also answered the question of whether the downloading of the construction sector one of the goals of the renovation. “I don’t care how loaded is the construction sector. It’s a niche market, and if there is demand for its products — it is growing, there is no demand is not growing. Artificially something there, we will not do,” said the mayor.

“We built eight or nine million square meters of real estate, and build. Nothing tragic happens, there is no need for someone to load there. Renovation is a purely social project, a response to the demands of the citizens who live in dilapidated or derelict housing,” — said Sobyanin.

In February, President Vladimir Putin instructed the mayor to carry out the renovation of dilapidated housing. The mayor during their conversation said that the program gets about 25 million square meters, with a population of 1.6 million.

The next day the mayor headed the headquarters for the demolition of five-story building and stated that the new homes that will offer residents is demolished, will be more spacious apartment.
