Lavrov told about the purpose of creating areas of de-escalation in Syria

On Sunday, the Russian foreign Minister held talks with his counterpart from Saudi Arabia.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, speaking on Sunday, September 10, at a press conference after talks with his counterpart from Saudi Arabia, Adel al-Jubeir, told about the purpose of creating areas of de-escalation in Syria.

According to him, is the cessation of violence in the Arab country.

The head of the Russian depodesta stressed that the zone of de-escalation is a temporary measure and not due to the desire to divide the country.

As noted Lavrov, currently there is an agreement that a security zone in Syria will be operational in six months.

“This is not a permanent measure, none of those who agreed to the establishment of these zones, there is no intention to keep them forever, thus, essentially, creating some enclaves for years on the Syrian territory”, — quotes the Minister TASS.

We will remind, on may 4 of this year, Russia, Turkey and Iran signed a Memorandum on the establishment in Syria of four zones of de-escalation, and also acted as guarantors of the agreement.
