UN 4 September — RIA Novosti. The United States urges the UN security Council to the most stringent measures against the DPRK, said the U.S. permanent representative to the UN, Nikki Haley.
“It’s time to use all methods of diplomacy to end this crisis, and this means to quickly introduce the most severe sanctions, which will allow you to return to diplomacy here at the UN. Only the most severe sanctions will allow us to resolve this issue diplomatically,” said Haley.
“I want to say to the members of the UN security Council: we’ve had enough. A gradual approach, we tested, and despite best intentions, it didn’t work. We participated in many direct and multilateral talks with the regime, IC (North Korea — ed.) and over and over again they didn’t work,” said Haley.
“The time for half measures of the UN security Council passed, it’s time to use all diplomatic measures before it’s too late,” she said.
