Syrian President Bashar al-Assad believes a strike on Syrian army positions in the area of Deir ez-Zor deliberate US action. He stated this in an interview to the Serbian newspaper Politika, the full text of published Agency Sana.
According to the Syrian leader, the air strike was done on purpose.
“You can make a mistake, if the projectile will fall randomly in a separate building. Here, the bombardment went on for hours, strikes on the three dominant heights, on which the positions of the Syrian army, and not on the neighboring hills,” stated Assad.
In this regard the entire responsibility for the failure of truce in Syria lies entirely on the United States, said the Syrian President.
“The US primarily and the West in General have provided pressure on us to stop the fire. They always insist on a truce, when terrorists find themselves in a difficult position and lose. They use the respite to assist them — drop arms and ammunition, supply of food and money. All only to then re-start the fighting”, — said Asad.
According to him, for the United States and their allies, terrorists and terrorism are a bargaining chip with which they carry out their game in Syria.
The international coalition on 17 September launched an airstrike by the Syrian army near the airport Deir ez-Zor. 83 deaths, more than 100 were injured. The Pentagon said that he had acted unintentionally and thought that strikes on positions of the banned in Russia “Islamic state”. Later the Americans admitted that the air strike was a mistake, and through Russia brought the Syrians apology.
