The head of administration of Svetlogorsk Alexander Kowalski will retire on October 30. This was reported to journalists by the Governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov, reports RIA Novosti.
“It is obvious that in recent times [Kovalsky’s] state of health, so to speak, does not allow him to cope with the duties with which he must cope. We agreed that on Monday he sends the resignation letter to the municipal Council of deputies”, — said the chief Executive officer.
According to the Governor, he’s already picked up a replacement for the mayor.
26 Oct Kowalski told the portal “Клопс.Ru” that an unknown man shot him in the stomach in the yard. He noted that he lost consciousness and about an hour spent on the street. This information later was not confirmed. The law enforcement sources reported that the head of Svetlogorsk injured — deep bruises — in the fall, possibly in a drunken state, said the Agency.
