Us drone held in the air five days
The American company Vanilla Aircraft have carried out new tests of the unmanned aerial vehicle VA001 long duration flight in which he held in the air a little more than five days.
As written by Aviation Week, the tests were conducted in mid-October of 2017 and was deemed successful. The device has updated the world record for flight duration among drones weighing up to 500 pounds.
The us military today are interested in the development of aircraft and UAVs, able to fly from the United States to fly to any remote location in the world.
Such devices need a military, because, according to the Pentagon, in the near future the number of bases of the allies, which can use USA, will be significantly reduced.
New drone VA001, designed for a flight duration not less than ten days, were tested at the site “wallops flight facility” owned by NASA. The machine took off on October 18 and landed on 23 October, after a total of slightly more than 121 hours.

VA001 drone has a wing span of 10.9 meters and a maximum takeoff weight 272,2 kg. The machine is capable of speeds up to 130 kilometers per hour and carry a payload weighing up to 23 kilograms. The drone can rise to a height of 6.1 thousand meters.
