Russia expanded sanctions against the West

Russia expanded sanctions against Western countries. Import of live pigs and offal from EU countries, USA, Canada and some other countries will be banned. This is stated in the government decree published on Friday, October 27.

An expanded list of the food embargo will be in effect until 31 December 2018 in relation to the US, EU, Canada, Australia, Norway, Ukraine, Albania, Montenegro, Iceland and Liechtenstein. Got live pigs (except thoroughbred), meat byproducts (of cattle, swine, sheep, goats, horses, Asses, mules and hinnies), pork and poultry fat of cattle, sheep and goats, animal oil.

The government resolution States that the introduction of new restrictions will not affect the internal needs of Russia.

In July, Russian authorities extended the coverage of the earlier edition of the food embargo until the end of 2018. Russian predamage is the response imposed by Western countries sanctions. Restrictive measures from the EU, USA and other countries was first introduced in 2014 and have been associated with the annexation of Crimea and conflict in the South-East of Ukraine.
