The Communist party is going to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Oct for a week.

The Communist party plans to mark the 100th anniversary of the revolution of 1917 the mass festive events in Saint-Petersburg and Moscow. The party leadership considers the October revolution as the main event of the twentieth century for Russia and for the world. Citizens perceive it is not so clear, from surveys of the Institute of sociology. A source of pride for the revolution itself called 6% of the respondents.

Communist party leader Gennady Zyuganov intends to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the October revolution, the first week of November. He is convinced that “the October revolution was an event of epoch-making scale” because it “rescued the Russian statehood”. The creation of the Soviet Union has pushed the authorities of other European countries to the development of the “welfare state”, said Mr Zyuganov.

However, the Russians perceived the October revolution of 1917 is ambiguous, it follows from a number of surveys that were conducted by the specialists of the Institute of sociology. Almost a third of respondents (32%) find it difficult to somehow evaluate the event. Another third (29%) believe that “the benefits and harms were roughly equal measure”. 21% of respondents believed that the revolution brought “more good” and 19% said “more harm”.

In this case, by the very fact of the Bolshevik seizure of power have a positive attitude 30% of respondents negatively — by 35%. The rest are difficult to answer.

Any revolution for the Russians not the main reason for national pride, it follows from the research of the Institute of sociology.

So, the October revolution is also an object of pride has selected 6% of the respondents, the perestroika of Mikhail Gorbachev — 2%, the abolition of serfdom by Alexander II — 7%. The undisputed pride is only the victory in the great Patriotic war — 76%.
