The starving builders of the Vostochny space centre has promised to pay wages for April

Six of builders of the Vostochny space centre in Khabarovsk stopped the hunger strike after the management of the Main military construction management №6 (former Dalspetsstroy Russia) promised to repay part of arrears of wages of their employees. Protest action suspended until 18 October, reports RIA “Vostok-Media — Khabarovsk”.

One of the protesters, Irina Senatova, told the news Agency that representatives of the company promised to pay arrears of wages monthly. So, in the near future workers would pay the salary for April. Protesters assured that the money “has been transferred to the accounting Department”.

On October 18, the staff will meet the Director General of the organization Andrei Nazarov. Following the talks, the protesters will decide whether to resume its rally.

In a press-enterprise service, the Agency reported that the April salary will receive not only starving, but also other employees to whom a debt is.

Former workers of the Khabarovsk Dalspetsstroy declared a hunger strike on Friday, October 13. Originally it was to participate 15 people, but half of them eventually refused to go on strike. The company must pay six thousand employees, a total of more than 270 million rubles.

October 12, the part of the employees resigned due to the delay of wages, other workers threatened not to go to work. On 10 October, 50 people picketed the building of the Plenipotentiary representative of the President in far East Federal district.

The construction of the Vostochny cosmodrome began in 2012 and was accompanied by scandals revealed the theft, as well as periodic strikes and hunger strikes of builders because of unpaid money.
