In Budapest was held a rally, which participants demanded self-determination for Transcarpathia. About this in his Facebook wrote the Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary Love Nepop.
She recalled that the organizers said that advocated “self-determination of Transcarpathia, and for the freedom of the Ruthenian, Polish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Armenian national communities who live on the territory of Ukraine”. The organizers of the event, as indicated by Nepop, “protest against the barbarism of the coup, which captured Ukraine, and with it the Hungarian national brothers.”
“I am convinced that the use of these rights does not justify the inscription on the back of a participant: “Transcarpathia rightfully belongs to Hungary. Self-determination for all oppressed Nations, forced to live in Ukraine”. And to complete the picture of the official flag of the Catalan autonomy”, wrote Nepop.
TV channel NewsOne, which led the broadcast of the event, said that the rally attended by about a hundred people. According to the channel, the rally was organized by the Hungarian party “Jobbik”. From the party the event was attended by the MEP Krisztina Morvai, who was denied entry to Ukraine, and tamás Gaudi-Nagy, who was wearing a t-shirt “Crimea is Russia, Zakarpattia is Hungary.”
Gaudi-Nagy in a commentary channel said that “all initiatives of Ukraine will be blocked by the Hungary, since Hungary has veto power and it will be applied in respect of Ukraine”.
Director of the political Department of the foreign Ministry of Ukraine Alexei Makeyev in his Facebook wrote that “Budapest, despite our many reviewers for extremely constructive diplomatic approach, openly flirt”.
“We strongly protest and expect the Hungarian authorities to urgently dissociate themselves from these shameful calls”, —
said Makeev.
On 11 October the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin accused Hungary in support of separatism in the Transcarpathian region. A day earlier, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Siarto refused the offer Klimkin to meet in the Transcarpathian region to discuss adopted the Ukraine law on the Ukrainization of education.
In September, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on education, which actually bans the teaching of any language other than Ukrainian. In particular, in 2018 abolished the teaching of subjects in the languages of national minorities since the fifth grade. From 2020, the education in the languages of national minorities will be eliminated in the lower grades.
