Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the removal of Russian flags from diplomatic property in the United States. His words leads to “Interfax” on Thursday, October 12.
“Of course, this is hostile action, a hostile going to further undermine our already residing in a sad state relations. President Putin, in this case, no doubt, will do what is in the interests of the Russian Federation”, — said the representative of the Kremlin.
Earlier Thursday, foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow considers the recent actions of the American side a deliberate attempt to destroy bilateral relations. Under the assumption of a diplomat, the incident with the flag could be aimed at creating unfavorable background for the inauguration of the new U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Huntsman.
Last night with the building of the Russian Consulate General in San Francisco and the Russian trade mission in Washington was taken to the Russian national flags. The US state Department said that the flags are stored in buildings, but declined to say why it was done and when the Russian state symbols will be returned to the place.
August 31, Washington has demanded from Russia to close until 2 September, the General Consulate in San Francisco to stop using the buildings of the trade mission in Washington and new York. These actions, as explained in the White house, were a response to the reduction of the U.S. deprecative in Russia.
