The Head Of The Republic Of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov
The main candidate on a post of the head of Dagestan is the first Deputy Director of Regardie Sergei Melikov, the radio station “Moscow speaking” with reference to the co-chair of the Russian Congress of peoples of the Caucasus Ruslan Kurbanov.
He said that Melikov was preparing for this post for a few years. In particular, he was appointed presidential envoy in the North Caucasian Federal district.
According to Kurbanov, Melikov has several times refused the post of head of Dagestan.
“His tenure as Ambassador allowed him to become better acquainted with the Republic and to understand the depth of its problems,” he added.
