The Kremlin has declared its intention to continue rotation of governors

Work on rotation of governors will continue, said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, reports RBC.

“The President continues to engage in regional issues,” — said Peskov.

Previously, experts of “Minchenko Consulting” told RBC that the following candidates for resignation from the post of governors are the head of Kalmykia, North Ossetia, Altai, Novosibirsk, Murmansk, Omsk, Vladimir, Ivanovo and Voronezh regions, as well as the head of the Altai and Primorye territories. This is stated in the report “Politburo 2.0”.

A series of resignations of heads of regions began on 25 September with the departure of the Governor of the Samara region Nikolay Merkushkin. The acting head of the region was appointed Dmitry Azarov, who served in the Federation Council post of the Chairman of the Committee for Federative structure, regional policy and local self-government and Northern Affairs. September 26, Nizhny Novgorod region Governor Valery Shantsev was replaced by Deputy Minister of industry and trade Gleb Nikitin. September 27, on his resignation said the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk region Victor Tolokonsky. On the same day it became known about the imminent resignation of the head of the Nenets Autonomous district Igor Koshin, and on 28 September he was replaced by Deputy Minister of economic development Alexander Tsybulsky.
