The largest planetarium in the world to be built in Petersburg
Planetarium with the world’s largest projection dome and the education center will appear in a historical building of the gas plant on Obvodny canal in St. Petersburg. The project worth RUB 380 million was approved Monday at a meeting of the Council on investment.
“The diameter of the building allows you to make the biggest planetarium with a dome 37 meters and a cluster of technical and scientific orientation, to motivate children and adults to engage with science and technology”, — said General Director of the investor company “ART-Technology” Eugene hoods.
According to Gudova, work will be carried out from 2017 to 2019.
The new planetarium will be able to make from 500 thousand to 1 million people a year, reports “Federal news Agency”.
The project envisages the construction of exhibition halls, observation decks, workshops on robotics and aeromodelling, the projection Museum, and lecture halls.
