“Indeed, this year the President’s schedule did not allow him to participate in a session of the UN General Assembly, and he does it every year,” — said the representative of the Kremlin.

Peskov also said that Russia recognizes the leading role of the international organizations “in world Affairs”. “President Putin has repeatedly affirmed its commitment to this line”, he added.

Earlier on Monday reported about the negotiations of heads of foreign policy departments of Russia and the USA Sergey Lavrov and Rex Tillerson on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. The parties discussed cooperation in Syria and the implementation of the Minsk agreements on Ukraine. Russian foreign Minister arrived in new York on the night of 18 September.
