Potatoes, the turnstile and the waiters: what is collect money in schools.
The “hot line”, which gathers information about money extortion in educational institutions of Russia, in ten days received more than 100 calls from 27 regions. The law provides for the free provision of school supplies to the educational process. However, across the country continue to emerge the cases of illegal levies. In September, the public organization “Area law” was held “hot line” where parents could anonymously report cases of extortion of money. In ten days it received over 100 calls from 27 regions.
The most unusual was a message from the Tatarstan city of Kukmor: there management school # 4 asked parents to bring in 16 kg of potatoes or to give an equivalent cost amount.
No less strange complaint came from Rostov-on-don, where the Director of the school № 24 intends to borrow the turnstile cost 475 thousand rubles. To pay it will be the parents who offered to donate 300 rubles for six years.
In the Volgograd school meals one child stands 30 rubles, parents are asked to literally “give what you can afford” because the money for normal food is not enough. “At one of the schools, the parents of seventh-graders were asked to chip in for the waiters in the dining room for first-graders and Zabaykalsky Krai asked money for the use of textbooks. The rest received on the hotline complaints can be divided into three items: workbooks, cleaning and security, as well as the fictional “Foundation class”. As for the workbooks, according to the Ministry of education, the imposition of purchase is unacceptable: notebooks can only be purchased on a voluntary basis. Although they may develop the intellectual activity of the child and provide adequate guidance to consolidate the material, to use them in the educational process is optional.
At the level of the Prosecutor General has no clear position. In some regional prosecutors believe that the workbook — study guide, and it should be provided free of charge. The second point is cleaning and preservation. The national average to pay for these “positions” are harvested at 70-100 rubles a month from the student.
