White likened himself to Yuri Detochkin
Former Governor of Kirov region Nikita Belykh accused of receiving bribes during a court hearing, compared himself to the character of the Soviet film “Beware of the car” Yuri Detochkin. On Wednesday, September 13, RIA Novosti reported.
During the interrogation in the Presnensky court of Moscow Belykh said he never bought expensive things, did not have undeclared property and did charity work.
“I had no illusions about the region. So what is the logic in the accusation, if I took the money — $ 18 million rubles and the same amount of money spent on charity? You can remember Yuri Detochkin, but it’s not going to fight nor the date nor the amount,” said White.
Earlier Wednesday, the former Governor has lost two lawyers as not paid for their services.
The officer has headed the Kirov region in 2009. In July last year, a month after the arrest, he was dismissed in connection with loss of trust.
According to investigators, White was illegally taken from the Kirov businessmen about 600 thousand euros in 2012-2016. He was detained red-handed in a Moscow restaurant while receiving 150 thousand euros in June 2016. The investigation claims that it was only part of the bribes for a total amount of 400 thousand euros. The investigation was completed in March.
