The Deputy of the State Assembly (Il Tumen) of Yakutia Nikolay Rumyantsev, who was behind the wheel of a car drunk and hit three people arrested. Against him a criminal case, according to the Republican Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) on Friday, September 8.
Investigation the assigned investigator for particularly important cases of the investigation Department of the Yakutsk. The case was initiated under part 4 of article 264 of the criminal code (“Violation of traffic rules, committed in a state of intoxication, entailed on imprudence death of the person”).
The accident occurred the evening of September 7 at the 23rd kilometer of the highway Yakutsk — namtsy in the village Syrdakh. The Deputy on the Nissan Patrol SUV ran over three pedestrians. As a result, one person died on the spot, two were taken to the hospital.
As noted in the management, it is established that the driver was drunk. The man did not comply with the speed limit in conditions of poor visibility and did not take into account road and weather situation.
The TFR the Deputy is not disclosed, however, earlier confirmed in a press-service of the Il Tumen. It was also reported that the pedestrians crossed the road in an unspecified place, while 56-year-old Rumyantsev explained the incident to the lack of street lighting and heavy rain.
