In the Parliament insist on their vision of the peacekeeping mission in the Donbass
KYIV, 5 Sep — RIA Novosti. First Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Irina Gerashchenko considers unacceptable the format of the peacekeeping mission in the Donbass, which said Russian President Vladimir Putin, in particular, its placement, according to Gerashchenko, should be on the Ukrainian-Russian border.
The Russian President said Tuesday that he supports the idea of sending peacekeepers to Ukraine. However, according to him, speech can go only about the function of ensuring the safety of OSCE personnel, peacekeepers must be on the boundary line and no other areas.
According to the President, the resolution of this issue should take place after reconstitution of the parties, the withdrawal of heavy equipment and establishment of direct contact with representatives of the self-proclaimed DND and LNR. Putin also said that he will instruct the foreign Ministry to submit to the UN security Council resolution to provide security of the OSCE mission in Ukraine under certain conditions.
According to Gerashchenko, the President of the Russian Federation “is trying to distort the idea of the Ukrainian leadership regarding peacekeepers in the Donbass, to turn everything upside down”. “This is not the Ukrainian border, so there can be no question of peacekeepers exclusively along the contact line”, — wrote Gerashchenko on his page in Facebook.
