Putin suggested the BRICS countries to conclude an agreement on information security

MOSCOW, September 1. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin proposes BRICS countries to develop universal rules in the field of international information security and to enter into an intergovernmental agreement. With this proposal he made in the article “BRICS – towards new horizons of strategic partnership,” published in the leading mass media of the countries of this organization before the summit, which will take place on 3-5 September in China.

“Offer to work together to establish an appropriate international legal framework of cooperation, and in the future – to develop and adopt universal rules of responsible behaviour of States in this region, – said the Russian leader. An important step would be the conclusion of intergovernmental agreements of the BRICS on international information security”.

The President of the Russian Federation, in his article emphasized that Russia has consistently advocated the expansion of cooperation of the BRICS countries in the field of global information security.
