The President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte reported that he had received an invitation from Vladimir Putin to visit Russia. About this Philippine leader said late Wednesday night during a brief press conference at the airport in the southern Philippine city of Davao after his return from Lima, where he participated in the APEC summit.

“I welcome the offer of President Putin to visit Russia,” – said the Philippine leader. He noted that prior to his visit will be sent to Russia foreign Ministers and defense of the Philippines so that they preliminarily discussed the agenda of cooperation between Manila and Moscow.

Commenting on his meeting with Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Lima, Duterte announced that it was about economic cooperation between the Philippines and Russia. “We discussed ways of strengthening and broadening economic cooperation between the two countries”, – said the head of the Manila administration.
