Scientists told about the consequences of a collision of Mars and ejection from the Sun
MOSCOW, 2 Jun — RIA Novosti. A powerful solar flare that occurred on September 11 of this year, has hit Mars, causing the most powerful auroras and actually doubling the level of radiation on its surface for a few days, according to the jet propulsion Laboratory of NASA.
In early September the Sun has experienced an unprecedented surge in activity on its surface, occurred four powerful flares of class X. Two of them were aimed at the Ground, and another hurt, and also Venus, and Mars. All outbreaks led to the ejection into space of large clouds of solar plasma, which eventually collided with planets going around them.
This was possible thanks to two spacecraft — the Mars Rover Curiosity, equipped with a set of sensors for measuring radiation, and the MAVEN probe, observe the state of the atmosphere of Mars.
As shown by these observations, flash, reached Mars on 12 September, was a really powerful record. For example, the strength of auroras, produced by it in the atmosphere of the red planet, was about 25 times the peak values, which recorded a MAVEN in orbit of Mars.
