Moscow has the impression that Washington simply does not want to admit the defeat of the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russian) government forces in Syria operating with the help of Russian troops. “Straight talking American colleagues: we offer coordination and cooperation in the fight against terrorists in Syria — you refuse. Who benefits? IG”, — he explained.
According to the diplomat, it looks absurd situation in which “an external force, illegally present on Syrian territory without the consent of the Syrian government begins to define the geographical scope for action of the army cap, carrying out operation to free their own country from terrorists.” Syromolotov added that the dialogue with the US on Syria continues at the level of military experts.
On 21 September it was reported that the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor 85 percent came under the control of Syrian government forces. The Russian defense Ministry said that during the week he will be liberated from the militants completely.
