According to investigators, officials of the Primorsky aquarium “careless attitude to their duties, and individual Beluga whales were kept on the basis of the study of marine mammals in inadequate conditions”.
It is noted that on 23 September the whale fin caught the rope, unable to swim to the surface and died from suffocation (the maximum time possible for animals under the water — 20 minutes).
It is also indicated that due to the recent establishment of the material damage of 1.5 million rubles.
Earlier, the representative of the aquarium Elena Molchanova said that a fenced outdoor mesh tank with a pet because of the storm brought tackle. Belukha, it has become entangled and suffocated. “The technician on duty had attempted to free her, but could not cope with the 600-pound animal,” said Molchanov.
