The speaker of Council of Federation Valentina Matvienko considers that the current policy of Washington against Moscow is “playing with fire”.
“The hostile policy pursued by Western States against our country increases. Economic sanctions, media war, the escalation of tensions in international relations, military activity of NATO in the course of embarking all” — said Matvienko in an interview with “Parlamentskaya Gazeta”.
According to her, even during the Cuban missile crisis, Washington has refrained from actions that he is taking against Russia in the diplomatic sphere.
“This is playing with fire. We are talking about the confrontation of States possessing the largest nuclear missile Arsenal and the most powerful armed forces,” — said the politician.
Also Matvienko considers that it is not surprising is the passivity of many members of the international community, including European States.
Earlier, first Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Dmitry Novikov commented on the statement by state Department spokesman Heather Nauert that U.S. relations with Russia do not want to continue the policy of “an eye for an eye.”
