Telegraph: Iran could provide North Korea with secret assistance in the creation of nuclear weapons

LONDON, September 10. /TASS/. British authorities fear that the fast implementation of the intentions of Pyongyang to become the owner of nuclear weapons could be carried out by secret collaboration of Iran. This was reported by the newspaper The Sunday Telegraph.

Senior sources in the British government do not consider reliable information that North Korean scientists had independently ensure the promotion of the country to acquire nuclear technology. In this regard, the British foreign office is investigating the question of which current or former nuclear powers have provided the DPRK such technologies or gave her advice.

“Iran tops the list of suspects that they could provide some form of assistance, despite the fact that Russia has also been found in the center of attention”, — stated in the article.

The article also States that the hopes of the British authorities are based on the fact that the establishment of a possible supplier of nuclear technology to Pyongyang “will open new diplomatic avenues to exert pressure on a regime that refuses to change course despite the economic sanctions.”

The DPRK, on 3 September announced the successful test of the hydrogen charge, which can be used as warheads for Intercontinental ballistic missiles. This provoked a strong reaction from the international community. The US President Donald trump, in particular, said that Washington is considering the option of a complete severance of trade relations with those States that do business with Pyongyang.
