Acting Governor of Sevastopol Dmitry Ovsyannikov leads among other candidates for the post of head of the region. On Monday, September 4, reported the press service of the all-Russia centre of studying of public opinion (VTSIOM).
“Support in the elections, the acting Governor of Sevastopol Dmitry Ovsyannikov ready to provide 53 percent of the total number of voters and 61 percent announced plans to come to the polling stations”, — said in a press release. The electoral calculation of the results of the vote for mayor amounted to 69.5 per cent for his closest competitor, Ilya Zhuravlev 14.3 percent.
The survey was conducted in August, the sampling volume in the region amounted to 1,200 people.
On 18 August the President of Russia Vladimir Putin at a meeting with Ovsyannikov approved the proposals of the authorities of Sevastopol in several areas of city development. In particular, the head of state supported initiatives in the region of the dynamic budget, repair of a cruiser “Moscow” in Sevastopol marine plant and upgrading the city’s education system.
Ovsyannikov was registered as a candidate for the post of Governor of Sevastopol in July. The decision was unanimously taken at a meeting of the city election Commission.
Elections in Sevastopol will pass in the uniform voting day — September 10, 2017.
