Russian consular office in the US is not going to reduce the intensity of work. This was stated by the head of the press service of the Russian Embassy in the United States Nikolai Lahonin, reports TASS.
“In the context of the unfriendly actions of the American authorities, I want to draw attention to the fact that Russian consular offices do not intend to reduce the intensity of work to provide comprehensive services,” he said. The representative of the Embassy said that United States consular offices operate in Washington, new York, Seattle (Washington), and Houston (Texas).
Lakhonin also confirmed that all previously filed documents to the Consulate General in San Francisco transferred to the Consulate General in Seattle.
Earlier, Consul General of Russia in the USA Sergey Petrov said that the service section of the Consulate General of Russia in San Francisco, which was closed at the request of Washington, controlled by the US authorities and cordoned off by police.
Previously the foreign Ministry have posted on social networks a video inspection by the FBI of a building of Consulate General of Russia in San Francisco. Searches there and in the trade mission started in Washington on the evening of 2 September.
August 31, the US authorities have demanded from Russia to close these diplomatic facilities in the period until 2 September. The decision of the White house was, as they explained, second step in the reduction of the U.S. diplomatic corps in Russia.
