The Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova expressed hope that the President of the United States Donald trump in the matter of pardons serving time in the United States of Russian citizen Konstantin Yaroshenko will be out of politics and will be guided solely by humanitarian principles.

“Objectively it may not be so quickly considered because this procedure requires the decisions of the Congress,” — said Moskalkova reporters in response to a question about whether the response to its appeal to President Donald Trump to pardon Yaroshenko.
She noted that periodically asks about the stages of their request. “I’m tracing a path through our foreign Ministry, contact the Embassy of the United States of America, and while this issue was not submitted to Congress for consideration,” said the Russian Ombudsman.

Yaroshenko was convicted in the United States in 2011 to 20 years in prison on charges in the preparation of the conspiracy to commit delivery of large quantities of drugs into U.S. territory. In the US, the Russian was taken from Liberia, where he was arrested on may 28, 2010. In April 2016, the court of appeals of new York denied Yaroshenko in the revision of the sentence. The appeal to the Supreme court of the United States Yaroshenko refused. Protection of Russians have repeatedly pointed to the inhumane treatment, lack of medical attention and, as a consequence, the deterioration of his condition.
