Putin believes that the fight against terrorism in Syria should continue
TASS, 1 Sep. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Syria now has preconditions for improving the situation. However, he believes that the fight against terrorists should continue, and calls for the creation of a broad anti-terrorist front.
“Largely due to the actions of Russia and other interested States in recent times, the prerequisites to improve the situation in Syria. The terrorists dealt a powerful blow, the conditions for starting the process of political settlement and the return of the Syrian people to a peaceful life”, — wrote the head of the Russian state in the article “BRICS — towards new horizons of strategic partnership,” published in the leading media of the countries of this Association.
Putin stressed that “the fight against terrorists in Syria, other countries and regions should be continued.” “Russia urges not in words but in deeds, to start forming a broad front against terrorism on a generally recognized international legal basis with the Central role of the UN,” — said the President of the Russian Federation. He added: “And in this respect we naturally value the support and assistance from its partners in the BRICS”.
