The Economist on the centenary of the revolution put on the cover of Putin in the image of the king
The October issue of the American magazine The Economist came out with a cover, where Russian President Vladimir Putin is depicted as the king. Cover photo posted on Twitter edition. The cover image is dedicated to the 100 th anniversary of the October revolution.
“The king born in 100 years after the revolution”, — stated on the cover. “Russia again is under the authority of the king,” written in Twitter magazine. On the cover of the head of state depicted with the “epaulettes”. His coat is decorated with rockets and “order” in the form of a red star. One of the medals on his chest shape is reminiscent of the Crimean Peninsula.

In an editorial The Economist explains the choice of person for the cover. As notes the edition, Putin earned “the title king”, as it brought the country “that many Russians believe the chaos of the 1990-ies”.
One of the weaknesses of the Russian President the magazine calls the absence of a mechanism of “real democracy”. When “manipulated democracy, the winner takes it all”.
“Putin has an approval rating of Russians, more than 80%, as convinced them that “no Putin, No Russia””, — stated in the article.
Putin, thinking about how Russia should develop, allegedly decided “to entrust the economy to the liberal technocrats, and policy former employees of the KGB,” writes The Economist. It “reinforces the power of repression and military conflicts,” the publication adds.
Last year the October issue of The Economist also came with the cover, which depicted Putin. In his eyes “burned” two red fighter.
