The law about the 25-year-old ban on the publication of these documents was passed by Congress in 1992 under President George H. W. Bush.

Then, a special Commission gathered documents in a separate archive and recommended that for reasons of national security to make them secret for another 25 years.

However, in this archive were also hundreds of pages of documents Dating to the time of the Commission’s work, to 1990-th years. According to a source in the White house believe that they contain information the publication of which may still harm the national security. They describe intelligence operations that occurred relatively recently and the trump may refuse to declassify these documents.

The publication does not specify what amount of data can be discussed, saying only hundreds of pages of documents.

The vast majority of archived data was created in the sixties and seventies of the last century and they are likely to be first published in full.

The White house told the publication that he would try to do everything in order to publish the maximum amount of data.
