Turkey is increasing its military presence in Idlib
ANKARA, October 14 — RIA Novosti. Turkish military equipment and personnel being transferred to the Syrian province of Idlib, where it continues the process of establishing the observation posts of the Turkish armed forces in accordance with a model of agreements, reports on Saturday Agency Anadolu.
On the eve of the Turkish General staff announced that the Turkish military began to establish in Idlib observation points within the progress in Astana agreements on areas of de-escalation in Syria.
It is noted that another convoy with the technique of crossed a checkpoint in the district of reyhanli of Hatay province in the direction of the Syrian district of the Atma.
In the initial phase of the Turkish contingent have stationed on the border between the provinces of Idlib and Afrin controlled by self-defense forces of Syrian Kurds, which Turkey considers a terrorist organization, associated with the country banned Kurdistan workers ‘ party.
According to military sources, the Agency, in the framework of agreements with Russia and Iran the accommodation units of the Turkish armed forces will be carried out in stages, starting in the North of Idlib, in a southerly direction. It is expected that the Turkish armed forces will establish checkpoints in more than 10 districts of Idlib.
