“We are rather inclined to doubt the authenticity of this information,” — said Peskov.
However, he recalled that, in deciding to launch the operation in Syria at the request of the legitimate authorities, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that “besides terrorism, Russia aims to protect its own security, based on the fact that several thousand immigrants from Russia, including from the North Caucasus, according to our intelligence, located in the territories then controlled by ISIS (banned in Russia — Interfax)”.

Asked to comment on the report that in Russia back about 400 fighters, Peskov said: “I again questioned these figures, but I also want to remind you that at various levels it was noted the potential danger that people who joined the terrorists will return home, namely to Russia.”
“This is dangerous, and this is well known to our intelligence services. Countering this potential threat is one of the priorities”, — he stressed.
