The Central Bank fixed the virus BadRabbit on Russian banks

The center for monitoring and responding to computer attacks (Finart) of the Central Bank recorded an attack on the Russian banks with the use of virus-ransomware BadRabbit, but compromised resources financial institutions was not detected. This reports the press service of the regulator.

After the detection of a virus attack Fincert sent to the participants of information exchange recommendation, which said, how to identify mail, malicious software and how to counteract.

According to the monitoring center, the peculiarity of this malware is that it collects passwords of users of infected computers and downloads additional malicious modules using the received data.

Bank of Russia warns that attackers will continue to spread infected software. Usually e-mail comes a letter with an attached virus, and then, by deception or abuse of confidence, the attackers entice a user to open a malicious file, and the infected software is activated.
