NEW YORK, October 17. /TASS/. An exclusive sample of American revolver Smith & Wesson that belonged to singer Elvis Presley on display Tuesday at auction in the US for $95 thousand this was reported on the website of the American auction house Moments In Time.
“Rare! To lot included all the necessary papers, including a receipt signed by Elvis, who presented the badge of the Sheriff of Shelby County (honorary badge with serial number 1 — approx. TASS) as the ID. Documents with the serial number [of weapons] and signed by Elvis Presley are the most reliable history of the origin [of the lot],” — noted in the description of the gun on the website of the auction house.
The singer purchased this Smith & Wesson 38-caliber in Memphis (Tennessee) 7 January 1971. Between the handle and the drum is engraved the symbol that represents the zip with the initials T. C. B. (Taking Care of Business — doing business). So Presley called his band, marking a symbol of pendants, bracelets, rings and accessories.
Elvis Presley — American singer and actor born in 1935 in Mississippi. The musician was one of the first performers inducted into the Hall of fame rock-n-roll. He is the recipient of four Grammy awards, including lifetime achievement. Presley died in 1977 at age 42 from cardiac arrest.
