In Thailand, the Russian citizen drowned while bathing in a prohibited place

BANGKOK, 15 Nov — RIA Novosti. Forty-two Russians, floating in the sea near Karon beach on Phuket island in the area marked “no swimming” red flags, were pulled out on Sunday morning to shore unconscious other tourists and later died in hospital, reported the online version of the Phuket Gazette.

According to witnesses and participants in the attempts to rescue the Russian, he was swimming in the area designated prohibiting the red flags, when a sudden onslaught of two-meter wave completely covered.

When the Russians appeared again on the surface of the water, he did not move, and those who were on shore, rushed to save him. Arrived on the scene the soldiers of the on duty unit of the naval forces of Thailand has tried to provide first aid, however he has not regained consciousness. In the hospital where the Russian was taken from the scene, the doctors pronounced him dead, according to the newspaper.

Over the past two days nine Russians found themselves in dangerous situations while swimming in areas marked with red flags to six, Friday afternoon at the same beach, and then three more on Friday night in Nai Thon. They were all rescued by other tourists or workers in the service industry beach areas, the report said.
