Videoconferencing destroyed in Syria, the influential field commanders of the “Islamic state” (IG, an organization banned in Russia), natives of the North Caucasus, including Abu Omar al-Shishani. This was announced on Saturday the official representative of the Ministry of defense of Russia Igor Konashenkov.

“According to information obtained through multiple channels, and confirmed on the ground, destroyed a long time hiding in Iraq of the influential field commanders of ISIS, the natives of the North Caucasus: Abu Omar al-Shishani, Alauddin al-Shishani and Salahuddin al-Shishani. The elimination of the militants of the international terrorist group ISIS in the Syrian Arab Republic will continue,” — said Konashenkov.
The destruction of Abu Omar al-Shishani was announced in March last year. As stated by the press Secretary of the Pentagon Peter cook, “one of the leaders of the Islamic state Tarkhan Batirashvili Taimurazovich nicknamed Abu Umar al-Shishani was probably destroyed by air strike”. The operation was carried out in the North-East of Syria using both unmanned aerial vehicles and military aircraft. The U.S. state Department at the time announced a reward of $5 million for information on the whereabouts of Abu Omar al-shishani. According to some reports, Abu Omar al-Shishani served on the Board of the IG and the head of the Finance group.
