Olympic champion in Alpine skiing wants to compete with men

Lindsey Vonn

Olympic champion Vancouver-2010 American Lindsey Vonn has asked the International ski Federation (FIS) with the request to participate in the world Cup in lake Louise (USA) in the men’s downhill competition. It is reported by Inside The Games.

“That’s what I want to do for yourself. If I can train with men, why can’t I compete with them? I won a lot of races among women are why I can’t go to the next level? Men’s team — the next level, it is a fact. I want to be where you want to give the maximum,” — said the athlete.

FIS are willing to consider this question at the preseason meeting in Zurich on 3 or 4 October.

32-year-old Vonn is the most decorated American athlete in the history of winter sports. She won the world Cup 59 times. At the Olympic games 2010 in Vancouver she won gold in downhill and super-g, became the bronze medalist.
