The chief editor of RT explained the implications of registration noagenda in USA
Moscow. September 29. INTERFAX.RU — Chief editor of Russia Today Margarita Simonyan believes that the registration of the channel in the United States as a foreign agent may result in the termination of his work in this country.
“We are required to register as a foreign agent. This may entail such restrictions, which we simply will not allow you to work in the country”, — stated in the message channel on the website of the channel.
“It’s all very sad. We did not start, but than it continues, we can only guess,” said Simonyan.
According to editor-in-chief of TV channel Russia will take ‘mirror’ measures, and this will not benefit any of the parties.
Previously a member of the house of representatives, democratic party USA David Cicilline made for the registration of RT as a foreign agent. This, in his opinion, would serve the interests of the American audience, and will not become an obstacle to the work of the channel.
The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that “every step against the Russian media will have a corresponding response.”
