The CEC Chairman, Ella Pamfilova said that she was pleased with the resignation of heads of regions of the Russian Federation.
“Today I welcomed the information about the departure of a number of regional leaders. I hope that this is the proportion of our work is large. These are the regions for which we had claims for the elections”, — she said at the CEC session. Pamfilova said that the resignation of what governors have in mind.
Earlier, Russian President accepted the resignation of the Governor of the Novgorod region Valery Shantsev and Governor of Samara region Nikolay Merkushkin. Vice-speaker of the Parliament of the Krasnoyarsk territory reported on Wednesday that the head of the region Viktor Tolokonsky held a private meeting with the Cabinet of Ministers and other officers of the government entity, which announced his resignation. The Kremlin did not comment on this information.
