EU Ambassador to Russia told about the meeting in the lift with Putin

The EU Ambassador in Russia Vygaudas ušackas said about the ride in the Elevator with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, during which they discussed Russian-Lithuanian relations. The content of the conversation, the diplomat revealed in an interview with TV channel “Rain”.

Because these negotiations have been very tough and difficult. There was no mutual sympathy. He explained that has a view of the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite. “I told him, well, as you do not drive, if you then threaten Ukraine, threaten Lithuania has already introduced sanctions against the Lithuanian exports of agricultural products. We have to say to that, what else can we do?” — said the Ambassador. Usackas added that they then Putin continued the conversation.

Usackas served as Minister of foreign Affairs of Lithuania since December 2008 to February 2010. The head of state said that there are no prospects for a fruitful work together with the Minister there.
