Senator from the U.S. state of Oklahoma James Lankford said that Russia is to blame in fueling the disputes between the US President and the athletes of the National football League (NFL) on Twitter for aggravation of the political situation, reports RIA Novosti.

“Even this week we saw how the Russians and their “trolls” began to spread the hashtags #take a knee (#bow the knee) and #boycott NFL (NFL boycoting). Last weekend they took both parties to the dispute and promoted them as much as possible to increase the noise level in America that would do so much, the problem looked even more,” said Lankford at a hearing in the Senate Committee on homeland security.

Previously, the club of the National hockey League “Pittsburgh penguins” agreed on trump’s invitation to visit the White house.
