The Kremlin urged the US to follow the Treaty

On the need to adhere to the provisions of the Treaty on open skies, said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, answering journalists ‘ questions at the briefing.

Commenting on reports the Wall Street Journal that Washington plans to limit the flights of Russian military aircraft over the United States, due to the fact that Russia allegedly restricted flights on the Kaliningrad to American inspection of the aircraft, Peskov said: “Here there is hardly room for interpretation. You need to clearly follow the provisions of the Treaty on open skies.

“Any claim should be nominated in full compliance with this agreement, because each party has its own obligations in connection with the above-mentioned document,” — said the representative of the Kremlin.

The agreement was signed in March 1992 in Helsinki by representatives of 23 OSCE States.
