MOSCOW, September 28 — RIA Novosti. The founder of Playboy magazine Hugh Hefner died on 92-m to year of life, according to the official Twitter of the magazine.

“An iconic figure of America and the founder of Playboy, Hugh M. Hefner passed away today. He was 91 years”, — stated in the message.

The representative of Playboy Enterprises in a statement to People magazine confirmed the death of Hefner.

“Hugh M. Hefner, the icon of America, presented the Playboy magazine world and turned the company into one of the most recognizable brands in history, peacefully passed away today as a result of natural causes in his home, the Playboy mansion, surrounded by loved ones”, — said in a statement.

About a year ago in mass-media there were messages about the disease Hefner. The founder of the world famous magazine denied this information. “I wish the tabloids informed me a little earlier that I’m sick. Then I would cancel plans for the weekend” — he wrote in Twitter.

The Playboy magazine is one of the most famous brands in the world. The first issue came out 51-thousand copies in December 1953. Now Playboy is available in different languages worldwide. Russian version of magazine is published since 1995.
