Moscow has promised to respond to the U.S. restrictions under the Treaty on open skies

Moscow will produce retaliatory measures against the United States due to the restrictions from Washington under the Treaty on open skies. This was stated by Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, reports “Interfax”.

“Before we have something to announce on this topic, we will have the situation to perform with our military and then to see in what form we will answer the Americans,” said a senior diplomat.

He added that the United States has once again demonstrated the new restrictions, I prefer to follow the path of pressure.

Earlier on 27 September, the source RIA Novosti, the U.S. state Department announced that the United States take action in response to attributed to Russia’s violation of the open skies Treaty that provides for mutual inspections of countries in the airspace of each other.

“We have long been concerned about the observance by Russia of the Treaty on open skies. After repeated unsuccessful attempts at diplomatic communication with Moscow, we decided to take reasonable and proportionate measures in response to the failure by Russia [the Treaty],” — said the Agency interlocutor. He noted that Washington is ready to cancel these arrangements at any time if “Russia will return to compliance with its obligations under the Treaty on open skies”.

The day before The Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed representatives of the Pentagon and the state Department wrote that American authorities plan to soon announce restrictions on the flights of military aircraft Russia over the United States under Treaty on open skies. In particular, we are talking about Alaska and Hawaii.

According to sources in Washington believe that Moscow itself does not comply with the terms of this agreement. In particular, the us authorities claim that Russia is in violation of the Treaty has banned flights of us military planes over the Kaliningrad region.
