Scientists have named the main benefit of lack of sleep

MOSCOW, September 23 — RIA Novosti. American psychologists found that sleep deprivation helps in the fight against depression. Article published in The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry.

The researchers conducted a statistical analysis of 66 independent studies in which we investigated the effect of insomnia on depression. A literature search was performed by keywords “sleep deprivation” and “depression” in the databases PubMed and PsycINFO. The study included in the analyzed set, and if the authors have practiced sleep deprivation as a potential therapy for depression.

Earlier, the American doctors found that the systematic lack of sleep increases the likelihood of death from stroke in people with diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Experts recommended that such patients to sleep at least six hours a day.
