The flow of the Mississippi: people and dreams
Photographer Alec Soth made a series of trips on the Mississippi river, photographing people, landscapes and places that met him on the way.
During the slow process of installing and setting his large-format camera SOT posing sometimes asked to write what they dream of.
Peter, whose snow-covered floating the river house on the Mississippi can be seen above, a simple dream. He lives on a boat for 20 years, and he wrote: “My dream is running water”.
32-year-old mother of twins, Kim, captured in a nightclub, Polish Palace, Minneapolis, SOT asked about her favorite trip. It turned out that Kim traveled only once, with my ex-husband.
