Moskalkova has revealed the cause of death of five residents of Chechnya from the list of “Novaya Gazeta”

Three people from the list of persons who, according to “Novaya Gazeta”, were persecuted because of sexual orientation, was killed in Chechnya during clashes in December last year. This was stated by the Commissioner for human rights in Russia, Tatiana Moskalkova, said on Thursday, September 21, RIA Novosti.

“We checked, there is a conclusion it is judicial-medical examination, they died in the hospital,” — said the Ombudsman. She also said that two more died of natural causes.

The list Moskalkova is 31 people. Three of them are still alive: two of the Commissioner for human rights was able to meet in Grozny, the third lives in Moscow.

The disappearance of the rest of the people on the list in may and June they instituted criminal proceedings — that is, until the publication of the list of dead and missing, said the Ombudsman. The part of the defendants, according to her, arrested.

Moskalkova said she intends “to find out the fate of each person”.

In April, “Novaya Gazeta” published an article about mass arrests and killings of inhabitants of the Chechen Republic from-for suspicions in sexual orientation. Press Secretary of the head of Republic Alvi Karimov denied this information. In July, the newspaper reported that he gave the investigators a list with the names of more than twenty residents of Chechnya gay, which, according to the publication, was killed in January.
