Deputy foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov held a meeting with a Hamas delegation headed by Politburo member Musa Mohammed Abu marzouk
In a statement on the website of the Ministry said that Moscow welcomed the initiative of Hamas on reconciliation with rival Fatah movement.
It is noted that the Hamas delegation had presented “a principled approach in favor of the speedy overcoming the internal Palestinian split”.
“The Russian side emphasized that Moscow welcomed the statement Hamas as a right step”, — stated in the message.
The Russian foreign Ministry added that they intend to “vigorously also to help the Palestinians to improve the difficult socio-economic situation in the Gaza strip”.
Earlier it was reported that the Islamist movement Hamas sent a high-level delegation to Russia.
